ISU Extension and Outreach Ricochet Leadership participants are doing a service project. Donations for Des Moines Blank Children's Hospital Unity Point Health to help support patients and families in the Shining Star Program can be left at the library. Ricochet: An Extreme 4-H Leadership Adventure.
Every Tuesday - Story Time for all preschool children at 10 a.m.. This month they will hear stories, enjoy treats, and make a craft. Thirty-one first grade students and their teachers come every other Tuesday morning to join us. Everyone welcome!
Book Club meets on the second Thursday each month at 2 p.m. The book this month is "Manhattan Beach" by Jennifer Egan. Copies can be picked up at the desk.
"An Extra Ordinary Life," by Rhoda G. Penny from Webster City is available at It's All Good -- a perfect gift for anyone. The book traces the journey of Matthew Parker, a boy with Down syndrome, as he grows, learns, and experiences life in rural America. A copy is available for checkout at the library.
Library Board meets the second Monday of the month at 6 p.m.
Many "Children's Choice" award winners have arrived, and are ready for checkout. The last of the non-fiction books from the Libri Foundation Grant have been added to the collection.
